Downpipe producing more hp??

Ok in an early thread i read that an aftermarket dp can produce up to 20 more whp...is this possible without a boost controller??
I thought that the stick ecu limits the boost to like 11-12 pounds...

Thanks
Jon

Yes it is possible. You gain about an extra psi or two from opening up the wastegate w/ either a divorced wastegate or bellmouth design downpipe. 20WHP is right untuned, 30WHP is about right for a tuned map w/ a downpipe.
