does your factory egt probe have to stay in your upipe?

just wondering if you can not use the factory one and put a aftermarket probe in the same bung ( with slight modification). i heard somewere that u really dont need it. will this cause a engine light ?

Zullard is more helpful than not
might, you might want to look into the perrin uppipe (it is in the parts guide on this site) it comes without a bung, instead it has an o2 simulator so you don't set off any CEL's, great uppipe.

no. the up pipe has an egt sensor only...
and yes it needs to stay intact...
otherwise the car will not boost correctly and will "limp mode" along.

Most aftermarket upipes have Sensor "bungs" installed- well, the quality ones do- I recomend the PDE or Perrin upipe.

"natural is nice but i'd rather be forced and blown"

sorry my misprint didn't mean to write o2 simulator I mean it has an EGT sensor bypass (sorry I must have been thinking downpipes) but Perrin is good
