i have the same set up but mine is turbo xs and the drop in filter is green, do you have a boost gauge? i dont worry about that fuel cut off its arround 17.5 psi of boost i only do 14 psi of boost so im safe ,what times you put on the 1/4 mile and speed?

You should probably be safe. However, when my roomate had the same stuff he was experiencing boost creep. Impressive amounts of it as well, I witnessed his Greddy Boost Gauge read 1.4 Bar. Thats spooky and could introduce quite the lean condition.

Watch your boost guage if you got it, and don't do the 3/16" restrictor mod and you'll probably be fine.

The spiking might be caused by a downpipe that has no provisions for the wastegate. If it's blocked off by a bad downpipe design, it can't work properly.

You will run leaner with the CAI, probably not with a catback.

The 3/16" mod is replacing a inline restrictor in the boost control line. The stock one is something like 1/8" so people would replace this one with like a brass 3/16" one from Home Depot. Basically, the restrictor is there to smooth out the signal to the wastegate actuator. At work we use needle valve to speed up or slow down control valve response, which is the same thing Subaru is doing with this restrictor.

By adding this people could get higher boost without anything else, of course the boost is mostly from spiking, caused by the wastegate overcompensating. My roommate bought me one, and its still in the plastic baggy in the top of my toolbox. I'd never put something like that on my car

Cheap doesn't always mean better.
