cracked radiator

hey guys i just cracked my radiator on the top tank is this common an second question whats a good upgrade since i will be replacing it

basco 03-29-2011 08:48 PM

Yeah, very common, either get a Koyo Radiator, or a Mishimoto both are all aluminum so they won't crack and not too expensive

Mine cracked this winter and I replaced it with a Meagan Racing aluminum radiator, it fit nice and was only 220.00 shipped.

Mine cracked last summer before I went to the 35R I picked up a BNIB Mishimoto that was opened at the factory for inspection for 153.0 shipped

anybody have a radiator fan rub on the upper radiator hose

basco 03-30-2011 05:30 PM

it's not the fan you have to worry about, its the alternator pulley and I had that I just shortened the hose a smidge and it went away

nagyhead 03-30-2011 08:44 PM

Hi guys!

Mine did rub on the fan shroud, but i just cut an inch off of each side of the hose and it fit fine.

diesel paul 03-30-2011 10:40 PM

well i think the reason i cracked the rad was the the orginal hose sagged until it hit the rad fan it wore thru the hose luckly i was checking the gauge i lost over a gallon of coolant so far the only problem was the cracked radiator the new hose is much farther away from everything than the old one
