cold air intakes

just starting out with mods and was thinking about putting a CAI on.. im looking on ebay and the prices range from a couple hundred for an AEM down to like $30 for what appears to be generic. is there an advantage to getting a name brand or will both more or less produce the same results?

Save your $. CAI are very prone to falsely altering your MAF signal to the ECU, this can result in a lean condition- not good for the engine. In addition, results have varied greatly- most poor. On NA motor you can get good results- w/ the WRX it is common knowledge to leave the oe intake.

Look to your exhaust for good, safe performance increases- particualrily the up and downpipe.
