just got a cobb sf intake. just realized i dont have the stock hose that comes on the stock airbox. i have the perrin hose from my perrin sri. since i am going to stage 1 was wondering if i need the exact part or would any other hose work? i am flashing with the cobb sf intake map and wanted it to be perfect. i am guessing that this http://www.scoobytuner.com/products/...&productID=734 would work but would it being a different part throw off anything?
You have the COBB SF intake and a stock inlet pipe? If so, that afta maf hose should work.... or the samco one. You MIGHT need to trim it down. Just remember some if not most of those taper down in size.
I did read somewhere on this site that certain hoses and bends could screw things up
I'm going to throw this out there, someone correct me if I'm wrong. If you do anything with your intake it can mess with the maf sensor reading. I believe the newer ones 08+ are more sensitive to this than the older ones. If you have the AP and don't use an intake that the AP has an OTS map then it would be kind of pointless IMO to tune with OTS maps. You would probably want to get a protune done that way it can be tuned for your specific set up. It depends on the maf sensor placement on the intake and the amount of air that is being taken in. It can potentially make the car run too lean or rich (I don't remember which way is goes with an intake) which can do harm to your engine. Hopefully that makes sense.
well i just usedx the perrin hose it it fit perfect. thanks for the advice. i think tyhat the perrin sri isnt asgood as the cobb intake. it isnt as audible tho. the car is running much better now granted i just got a full tune up. well see how it goes.
