cel?

ive been reading everyone gets a cel from adding uppipe or downpipe or both...i added both to my car and i havent seen anything all i did was disconnect the battery through the whole like 10 hour process hahaha...yeah we took forever... and then when i test drove it i didnt get on it...i just kinda broke it in and would go like 0% throttle to like 35% slowly back to 0% then back to 50%...75% you know...maybe that works? it worked for me

have you driven it 30 miles yet? You will eventually get one if you dont put a resistor and an o2 simulator

It took me a good two weeks and about 100-150 mile of driving before I got a CEL. I'd be willing to bet you will get one as well.

I think you'll only get one if you have no cats. You might get away with it if you have atleast one... can't say for sure though! Took me 200+ miles for mine to kick in and that was with no cats. Perrin's 02 simulator fixed it right up.

sorta off topic but, what kinda of power/response did you notice from doing it?

well ive driven it more than 200 miles and i still havent gotten a cel and i have no cats so you guys are crazy! lol

as for the power gain..my turbo spools a lot faster, you can hear your bov better, my turbo doesnt run out of breath anymore, and because the turbo spools a lot faster theres more power in the lower rpm range.

now heres my question..with this power gain, can my bov handle it or do i have to go aftermarket?

I believe the stock BOV is going to be your best option. The stock turbo will never make enough boost for you to need an aftermarket BOV. BTW, I have a HKS SSQV for sale.

Ok boss, did you buy the car used? If so, make sure the cel is working. Maybe the prev. owner did something else. Did you go wot yet?
My car was without a cel untill i pushed her alittle. She threw a cel within 10 minutes. New Cobb map = no CEL
Malfunctioning CEL = !Cry!

I got a cel just by hollowing my downpippe and 3rd cat, but had to drive over 250 miles to get it. BTW anyone know of a eletrical fix for the rear o2 sensor. Dont really want to do the mechanical fix. I have a 04 with catless up and tbe and trying to get rid of the o2 cel easily.

The electrical fix usually doesn't work on the 04+. Mechanical fix is more effective for the 04+, but still not anywhere near 100%

Perrin's 02 simuator worked for me. I have an 04, and as soon as I installed it and reconnected the battery, it started working. 2 weeks later and still no problems. Pretty easy to install, just hard to make it look nice, and took me probably longer than most since I was paranoid about making sure my connections were secure. I was using a low watt soldering iron and silver solder... which probably isn't a good combo. I personally recommed it the fix though.
