You're right, I should retract that - they were very helpful whenever I called but it just got really frustrating waiting without any news. Trey would occasionally post an update on their board but everyone that ordered a DP last spring was left dangling for what seemed like an eternity! DP was delayed because of casting problems & I appreciate that they waited until it was fixed before shipping. I guess the weeek after week after week of waiting with no news left a bad impression. I should have said their communications left a little to be desired...

go with the up pipe and downpipe and try to get a full turboback and then get an ecutech SO MUCH better then Utech the utec sucks i can give you 8 million reasons not to get it you gotta be a friggen tuner yourself to get it to drive nice all the time and you gotta be playing wit it all the time its mad sensitive

I have a UTEC, what are some of the reason you think they suck?

its a piggyback computer and you feel it switch over when the weather changes the car runs like shit. It knocks like crazy and there so sensitive. You always have to have your laptop on you and if you dont know what your looking for or how to tune your lap top is useless. Bro if youve had good luck with it props to you man but i drove it on my bros car and he hated it and i didnt even wanna touch his car.

I know someone in Denver with a UTEC and he sold it on ebay within a few weeks, even after a dyno tune. He said that he can't drive it in the mountains and with such a diverse climate it sucks. I'm sure it's great if you live in Florida or So Cal.

Personally i am with Cosmo on this one, i too feel that cobb is inferior to the others such as Turbo XS, Unichip, or ECUtek. but if i were u and only wanted to do simple mods i would do a TBE and an intake. Or i would purchase the Stage 1, Stage 1A, or Stage 1B power package for the WRX from gruppe-s.com.

I have heard many complaints about the UTEC from owners who didn't understand or didn't want to learn how to tune it properly. Once you do, you will eliminate all the problems.

Hey Guys, I'm still shopping around trying to get the best prices and what not.. If I get the up pipe first is there going to be a problem with a cel on that or do I just need a cell fix when I get the downpipe. I have also heard if I just get an AP before I put on the downpipe it will take care of the cels for me.

if i were u i would do the uppipe at the same time u do the rest of the exhaust because it is recomended that you unbolt the downpipe when you instsll the uppipe and once u do that the rest of the exhaust is only held in by rubber hangers, and instaling the uppipe should not throw a CEL if u reset the ECU before u fire the car up. Also u should get your car tuned after you install the uppipe for max power, effiency, and reliability thats why i recomended the Stage 1A power package from GRUPPE-S because it includes a TBE, uppipe, downpipe, and a ECUtek reflash, along with all gaskets u will need to replace.
