yeah I hear that. Im going to throw in a set of RA gears also. Well looks like I will just build this 2.0, and I think I might go with the fp green, and if I ever go the 2.5 way it will get the gt35r treatment.

Contact these guys. DS1 Motorsports and Development - Chicago Illinois Subaru WRX & STi Performance Specialists - Home Ask them about their transmission. Its a bit better (actually IMHO ALOT) than the RA gears. They have a stock ratio 1-5 replacment that is in house built and tested. See what they have to offer if nothing else.

+1 ...its a great setup...i do suggest you add some cams they really open up the top-end which is where the Green likes to play lol...and have you decided who's going to be doing the build or are you planning on doing it yourself?

The low end drivability with the extra tq makes the 2.5L choice a no brainer to me. Get a 2.5 and build it. Lots of tq and faster spool.

EJ207. EJ207. EJ207. If you plan on doing something serious like going stage 4 on your EJ205, you reeally might want to look into EJ207s instead, youll probably spend about the same and get all the glory of the EJ207. Make your dream engine an EJ207 Spec C.

Easier said then done. 207 is a JDM sti engine and you need to swap out the ECU and wiring harness. It'd be a project and a half.

You can swap the EJ207 shortblock just like swapping the EJ257 shortblock as long as you aren't trying to use the AVCS heads.

Thats what i was planning on doing...but I found its way cheaper to sleeve the EJ205 which makes the block stronger anyway

Will the stock 2.5 shortblock support 400whp without throwing a rod thru the block? All I want is 400hp like my srt4 did and i'll be happier then a tornado in a trailer park

If you go with the STI shortblock its best to go ahead and do all that since the engine will be apart anyways. And with the right parts and proper maintenance you should be fine.
