?'s

Are you using the stock boost gauge? If you are , what stock level are you talking about? And what gear? 1-2 is different than 3-5? DO you use 91 or 93/94. If you have a aftermarket gauge, what is the true reading?. You said stage 1... or did you mean map 1. Do you have the map selector or not? If it is stage 1, why not run the stage 2 map. Your profile says invidia downpipe and apexi cat back.?? I'm just curious why? A stage 2 should be at 16.5 PSI at around 4-5 k . It can be as high as 17+psi if you have the ABC spun out too much.A stage 2 should be 2 turns out, or around there.
Next is it on WOT , or partial boost?

ANswer some of my ?'s and I can help you out...

Two words... closed loop

Running in closed loop is the first thing I suggest to everyone. Easier to tune, and more consistent.

Also 16.5 - 17 psi is a bit high I believe. TXS says 15.1 for stage two and 15.5 for stage three. He has a 2.5. I'd say he is probably around 14.5-15 if he is set at stage 1 and if he ups the boost for the stage two plus uppipe he should probably not go any higher than 16 which is still higher than the TXS preprogrammed map.

So for stage one if I was to tunr the ABC all the way in how many turns should it be turnd out?? you said map 2 was 2 turns so should it be like 1 and a half?? ANd the only reason im not running Stage 2 from turbo XS is because I have not been able to get a lap top intel this week so hopefully my car will run allot better when I upload the stage 2.. what do you think???

There is no set number of turns to have the ABC open. Each car is different. What mods are there on your car?

Have you tried running closed loop?

Just since I'm curious (as I should have my UTEC this week or early next). How do I run closed loop?

You change it in the parameters of the UTEC menu. You then have to run a closed loop map.

I dont understand how to make it closed loop?? what is the diffrence between that and what im running now?? I just download stage 2 and 3 with a lap top I rented for the night and it was pretty easy to do once I got into the right program.... is it pretty easy to change it to closed loop???? and will I have to change anything in the map like as far as fuel or anything????

You will have to change the boost values in the map. The fuel and ignition stay the same.

Yea I dont really know how to change the values for boost so I think im just gonna leave it intel I can get the money to get the car Dyno tuned and let them mess with that shit so I dont #### aynthing up. It seems to be running alot stronger on the stage 2 from turbo xs compared to the stock utech stage it came with so im pretty happy. I put stage 3 on there too but I think it runs a little hot with that because I dont have the intercooler like it calls for.........

click here for some info on starting to tune your UTEC, assuming you have read the manual.
