best upgrade for stock wrx

Depends on the extent of modding you do. A UTEC CAN be a hassle if you don't have time to tune it correctly.

Depends on where you want to take your car. UTEC is if your gonna go all out, IMO. Get a Turbo Back or even Cat-Back exhaust if you just want modest power gains and you arent going to mod the hell out of the car.

The only gains you get from a catback are sound and appearance. A turbo back will gain some power, but for the same price (if not more) than a UTEC. And, a UTEC will give you more power gains.
