I have an 02 wrx and just hit the 99k mark and guess what ????? AC doesnt want to blow any cold air for me any more I noticed a small leak at the High pressure line to where it connects to the compresser . Got that taken care of. (So I think ) Gave it some 134 and hit the AC , but no dice . I hear a sound coming from the vents when I turn the AC on (which I am assuming is the compresser ) but thats as far as I have gotten . Somebody please help me out . This has had to happen to somebody before me .
Don't kill me for the thread jack, but mine just went out and my compressor doesn't kick on. No experience with this...
Sucks huh ? Ive beedn searching a little and havent really come up with too much . Dont wanna take it to the dealer ...... dont have that kond of money at the moment .
The compressor clutch failed on mine, but I couldn't replace it by itself (at least not two years ago) I found a used compressor w/clutch for cheap and haven't had any problems since, except that the idler pulley is getting noisy. I always charge the system with the oil and leak seal stuff, and after 125K miles it blows COLD !! Good luck

I was looking at it today and noticed some green liquid which i think is 134 leaking out of a bolt on the compresser .
I think the wrx uses the same compresser up to 05 . Anyone know if this is correct or not ?
No visible leaks . Low pressure lines are cold to the touch . Could it be low on 134 ? Possibly . When checking the pressure is it checked with the AC on or off ? Any advice would be helpfull . Might be on the way to the dealer tomorrow
my ac stopped working a few months ago too. i popped the hood and the ac line was frozen white. looked cool... but it turned out to be a relay for the ac compressor. i replaced it and works like a champ now

How much was the relay? And it's located in the under-hood fuse block or elsewhere? Thanks!
