3/16" mod

can someone explain the 3/16" mod to me? Is it replacing the plastic 3 prong vac connector attached near (to) the wastgate with a larger one?

Don't bother. I haven't seen where it makes any difference.

I have done this and I have also seen some data log graphs from others who have done this. You defintely get a little bit more boost in first gear and a little sooner. You also hold boost a little longer in all gears. You tend to get a rise to a little more than usual and then it drops for a second and then comes on strong again for a little longer. I can't see where this slight change can make a difference and I have read about more people being happy with it than upset. The only thing that you have to watch is that the plastic connector you buy can handle the heat. A good suggestion is to go to Home Depot or something and pick up the same thing but brass. This way you know it will stay in tact. The only risk you run with the plastic 3/16 mod is if the connector cracks and you overboost.

When Tim Bailey from PDX tuned me, he put in the 3/16" restrictor since I couldn't hit peak boost and bam, 17.5 psi. Just my .02
