Nice dyno sheet.. On some of the higher reading dynos you would of put down 240whp.. as for a 3 inch catback makeing you lose tq.. that isnt a true statement there has been many fights about that issue.. the turbo makes more then enuf back pressure.. you see the down pipes with the cutouts not loseing any low end tq and makeing more hp. so if a cutout doesnt make you lose tq i dont think anything will.. soo if you want to get a 3 inch catback dont worry about loseing tq..

I understand what you're saying, and that is consistent with virtually all of what I've seen in the forums and articles by pro tuners. So maybe KTR is simply wrong on this issue. However, I do respect what KTR says because they have a lot of hands-on tuning experience with modestly modded WRX's like mine.

In any case, my silver WRX Wagon is a complete sleeper, and I like it that way. There is nothing visible on the car to give away that it's not stock. And the car sounds almost stock with the stock cat-back. If I'm trading away a few HP/TQ then it's worth it for me.

KTR does installation work for $75/hour and can install uppipe & TBE in about 6 hours. At KTR ECUTek costs $650 plus $200/hour for dyno tuning. You can find reviews & pricing info on parts at: http://www.subarureview.com/

6 hours? I can do in about 2.5-3. And that's working by myself....

Install of uppipe & TBE on a two-year old stock setup takes longer. You have to deal with corroded/stuck fasteners, maybe a broken turbo stud, may need to trim heatshield for fitment. Cars in New England take a beating in winter, especially with road salt.

After all that is sorted out, I'm sure a subsequent replacement could be done in under 3 hours.

Still sounds like way too long to me. Of course, I've done 5 or 6 so far myself.

Hey Cosmo how far from Gaithersburg md are you? I just bought a perrin uppipe and need it installed on my 04 rex. I did the Dp with no probs but the UP looks a bit more challenging.
