Not like dipped and cleaned or anything. The mechanic cleans stuff up really good and gets all the grime out, and he installed a new valve.

Not yet, I changed the oil back to synthetic but I still get the noise. Car seems to run perfectly besides that. I've gone WOT a few times without any issue. idk what I can really do about it. I've heard from a bunch of people its on the normal side and wont cause any issues.

Biggest issue is its ####ing loud especially when Im in like a drive thru or something. lol

Did they just stick new valves in? Or did they upgrade everything to new after cleaning it up? Because if its like the video you posted on page 1. Its just valve tap...nothing you can do unless you feel like pulling it apart again. Its pretty common though and shouldn't hurt anything.

Yeah he just replaced the one burnt valve. I believe its valve tap. Other than being loud and Effing annoying, my car is running normally.

Whelp, stick a fork in her, shes done.

I spun a rod bearing today.

My car isnt quite this bad yet, probably cause I shut her down immediately, but, this is the sound my car is making now, just not quite THAT bad.

Pulled up to a stop sign after driving on the highway for awhile, car died. Wouldnt start up right away. Gave it a few seconds, tried again, got her going with some gas. Limped into the next parking space. I called my brother who has a tow truck and he agreed it sounds like rod knock.

I need to decide if I want to put money that I dont have into it to fix her and THEN sell her, or just sell her the way she is to someone who has the time and money to take care of her.

Its so frustrating cause I love this car. I've been with this car longer than my girlfriend and marriage(like 6.5 years)

Ive had her since like 40k, shes now at 125k, but shes becoming a gold digger(the car, not my wife, lol).

I wonder what I could get for her in this condition, whatever I sell her for would be my budget for a new car. Earlier today, I would say $8,000 for my car, now, I would be ok with $5,000. I've put a lot of money into it and the RA Gearset itself goes for quite a bit.

Its been a good run, but, I dont know whats in store for the future.

I need a quieter family car since we just had a baby anyways, I could never take my daughter in my car which kind of sucked.

Sell it as is or make it a proj car (since it sounds like it's your OLDEST bebe) and buy a DD (if funds allow). That sucks balls.

Your mechanic should've set the valve lash. If you're really into doing it yourself...you should see if Cullen would help you out at all. Yeah, that engine on the video sounds worse than mine did with a spun bearing. Its a shame that it broke.

Cullen is wagonracer on here btw...he lives up near your way.
