Nope, you lost me in your abbreviations. DBW is Drive by wire. What is DBC and IAC? Guessing that DBC is drive by cable? But, that doesn't sound right. Still don't know what IAC is.

DBC = drive by cable
IAC valve = Idle air control valve

Ah, whats the difference in DBW and DBC then? Is it a physical connection compared to a throttle sensor? Thanks for the clarification Dumdum.

DBW: Your gas petal is an potentiometer. The computer basically reads the position and does it's magic for you.

DBC: The accelerator petal is directly hooked up to the fueling. The ECU can have varying levels of control.
