03 wrx with 05 wrx swap

recently bought myself my spec R1 wagon. unfortunately for me, the turbo burned up all my oil, seized the engine, and now forced me to swap into a 05 wrx engine. I dont know the technical differences between the two. but i need to have the turbo replaced. Is there any turbo "upgrade" that wont require the upgrade of my internal parts. as this swap has ran me into the 5 grand range. I wouldnt be ashamed of a cheaper turbo.

There is no difference between the to motors. As far as upgrades for turbos, you have a wide range of choices without upgrading internals. You will need supporting mods such as injectors, fuel pump and a custom tune for those modifications.

basically the difference's i can think of hand is that you get:

a set of 17" bbs wheels with tires in addition to the 4 stock 16" wheels with the re92's...
a momo shift knob...
a special edition numbered plate on the dash...
clear foglight covers..
security system upgrade...
spec r1 badge on the rear or the car..
spec r1 floor mats...

and a spec r1 owners manual wallet..

oh and it comes only in bling yellow!!

i think that is pretty much the difference between a regular wrx and the spec r1...

Well....I didn't say you. Spec R1 sounded fishy to me. But, I looked it up before saying anything.

The only thing I thought about burning him on was saying his turbo burnt up his oil and siezed his motor. I've never seen a turbo burn oil at a rate where regular oil checks wouldn't catch. Blaming it on the turbo is just a cop out to doing something stupid, like not checking your oil regularly......not trying to be a Dick I did the same thing in an old Nissan truck about 15 years ago. Believe me I won't make that costly mistake agin, oil is cheep.

I don't have to be mad to punch someone in the face!

Unless his turbo seals are blown and he is burning through oil like a sieve.

I have seen the oil feed line split before and the car lose 4qts. of oil in a very short period of time...Granted that was a freak accident, but thing do happen...
