03 stock i/c and sti i/c

Hey,

I have seen a sti i/c for sale and was interested in getting it but was unsure if ide benefit from it.

I just have a few questions about the stock i/c vs the sti i/c..

Is the sti any bigger or thicker than the stock? (i assume yes)
Would the sti be a complete bolt on?
Is it worth the money and would i benefit from it?

Thanks, any help will be much appreciated

Many from here will tell you that the STI is a good intercooler, but to not waste your money on it. Spend your money on something bigger, which will give you a more noticeable difference.

I cant remember if it is true bolt-on but I believe it is. Somebody else will chime in and tell you some more, and the size of it.

Hope you find something good man

As long as you have the hoses too, it will bolt up. If you're getting it really cheap, it's not a bad upgrade, but if you're going for a bigger turbo and need a bigger intercooler, I'd get an aftermarket. Check out the APS. It's huge.

Ebay intercoolers are the best, bar and plate, less than 200 bucks, bigger than aps.

The USDM STi is not a 100% bolt on.The IC bracket by the turbo will not line up with the bracket on the intercooler. The JDM ver7 STi intercooler will bolt right up.I agree with the others that i would spend my money on a bar and plate style IC than the oem type tube and fin.

Skip the STi core, and go with the ebay cooler like stated above. The stock cores are shit.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

The dude selling it wanted quite a bit for it so i think il give it a pass
