hey guys so im looking to buy a wrx preferably a 02-05. Is there a year that someone would prefer??
And also what do you guys think it about the bolt on turbo TD05-16G?? and if so on upgrade typical size injectors?? and inner cooler upgrade?? top mount? or front mount??
Well to start you off, don't buy a car that someone else modded "or tried to mod" you will get nothing but a headache.
The year depends on what body style you like 02 style and 05 are like day and night.
I had a 06 and loved the body style. Really sharp car however due to starting a family had to give it up
I have a 02 now and I didn't like it at first but she grew on me.
As for turbo sizes I cant really help ya on that but I'm sure someone will cue in and give some info.
The best gauges I hear are Defi so be prepaired to spend some money if your looking for the best gauges.
Some people say your just buying the name others say differ.
If your planning on modding it yourself make sure you research before you buy, these cars are very picky with what you put on them. 2 things to not buy for your car when you get it are a BOV and a Intake. Save your money and do research.
Pffft bugeye is the only way to go....!Thumbs Up
In all seriousness get the one that you want, but be smart about what you buy. Look it over and if you aren't sure what to look for ask someone who does. Upgrading is something to look into after you have the car itself and it passes a go over all health inspection.
Again get the car first then make sure it is in good health, i.e. compression, plugs, transmission, clutch and brakes. Once you know the car is in good health then decided where to go with mods. Trust me you don't want a car that has bad compression and then try to mod it....
Pretty much the only color to own, but i'm bias...LOL
Isnt the tranny in the 03 and above, a better one? And i am also wondering about the intercooler issue; front mount or top mount. Advantages, away from hot engine? Disadvantage, long piping run? Im also looking for my first WRX. And my first turbo car.
There is an AA and a BA tranny code. The BA is slightly stronger, but either can be broken at stock power level regardless. Its all in how you treat and drive it. Intercooler choices depends on turbo size, and many other things. I run a 20G with a TMIC and its great. I might be able to gain a little top end power with a FMIC, but the response from a TMIC was my main thing.
I'm watching Kung Fu Panda 2 right now for free....!Laugh!
