I love my WRX after I pay off this car I would say I would get a STI for another car or possibly a Legacy.

I might have looked more closely at the Forrester XT as well. They started making them in 04 with the EJ255 and a decent turbo. Fits most Impeza parts too (or at least they used to). What turned it for me was that they can still get 25mpg highway. My STi doesn't do much better. It's a pretty practical car, a serious sleeper, and a lot of potential. Something different, ya know?

Lets be honest though, if I won the lottery, the car I'd pick up first would be an 06 turbo Baja.

That's funny you mention gas prices because I want to buy one to get better mileage from what I have. Anything is a step up MPG wise compared to my cobra.
