You can easily get 100k+ out of one if you keep up with maintenance and don't beat it too much. Keep in mind that WRX 5MTs are known to break if you drive the car too hard, especially at above-stock power levels.
You have to use premium fuel (91 or 93), but gas mileage should be in the mid 20's at least. My modified WRX still gets high teens to low 20's on average.
I think they're perfect daily drivers because they're fast in the summer and capable in the winter.
Also, keep in mind that every 30k is a semi-major maintenance milestone where many wear items get replaced: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/subaru...000Maintenance
Make sure all 60k maintenance was performed and you'll be all set until 90k. All four tires must be replaced at the same time, or be within 2/32" of each other and be the exact same size, brand, and model so use that as a bargaining chip since that will set you back several hundred bucks if they need to be replaced. It will also be due for a timing belt change around 100k.
