And if I upgrade the turbo to something bigger, would I have to upgrade other things first to make it run properly, because I was this car to be my DD but a bad ass DD
Check out blouch turbos they have a lot. Or a vf serious turbo would be good. You'll need injectors, fuel pump and intercooler and obvious tune.

Top mount upgrade or front upgrade or both?
And I don't know jack about turbos so when I start to buy one I will probably start a thread regarding it, I will also have to upgrade turbo back exhaust too? And I also see people putting air filters on the inlet of their turbos, what is the point of that?

Depends on what your power goal is. And yeah exhaust will be your first mod. Then just a Cobb Intake will be fine. I'm no guru on this shit tho. Let the pros chime in a little man

Think of your whole car as a glorified air pump - open it up from the back first and then proceed to the front and middle. TBE first, then pre-turbo mods, then ginormous bignasty (or medium) TURBO!

Its not the PSI that makes the difference...its the CFM. Plus, you're going to have to hold on to your stock parts too Nathan. You live in the smog state and modified you will not pass a smog test.

ok big question I have been wondering:
How much torque can a wrx tranny take, because i was reading that if I am wanting to push a good amount of HP then the wrx is to weak and I should just buy a sti.
i am not to bad under the car and what I don't know my buddy does, so should I just get an sti because I love the 6 speed tranny or would it be ok buying a wrx and putting an sti tranny in?

Well, if you're planning on getting an 06 WRX then a good amount of abuse in any form can cause a gear failure. It won't happen the first time you do it and it could just happen on a hard highway 3rd gear pull. Either you can factor it into your build budget or just go with a STI or 3rd Gen WRX. You could get lucky and never destroy the transmission on a older WRX...but rarely can people hold themselves back from being abusive enough with more power to not break it eventually.

If you're already questioning the tranny, then get an STi

Some if not ALL of us know.

If you're going to auto-x, track, etc... the car.... get the (04-07)STi.... it's a bit more peace of mind. If you're meaning an 09+ WRX.... then you should be "ok" either way.

Although the STi 6 speed trans is stronger than the stock WRX 5 speed, there are other good options to consider, such as a set of beefy 5 speed gears from Albins or PPG which won't require you to change your hubs and differentials.
