I got my 06 STi for 26k and it had 9900 miles on it. It is possible to find an STi for your price range.

I was in a similar situation when I was searching for a Subie. The color really didn't matter to me though, but I understand where you're coming from. After test driving a few used STi's and WRX's, some were in pretty good shape, some weren't, I decided on the 2009 WRX. I figured the warranty on a new vehicle is sort of an insurance on the cash you're putting out for a car. I've heard of horror stories of used cars breaking down after just a few weeks to a month from purchase date. On the flip side of the coin, I've known of some great finds and deals that can be found with some research and patience. Whatever route you go, good luck, have patience and if it seems too good to be true, it probably is...

I wouldn't look at either of those for one reason. Neither of them could even spell in their ad. The 05, has REALLY high miles too.

Really high miles? Seriously?
12k per year... 2011 - 2005 * 12 = 72k miles. It's about 1k miles a year more than you'd expect ON AVERAGE

Mosc is very right on that point. The national average is anywher from 12-14k a year. So basically its right on par. My wifes 05 has just over 73k on it (around 43k when we bought it), been running stage 2 for over a year (trip from WA to MD, then back to KS) running like a champ. My 07 only has 31k on it, but of course of the almost 48 months of owning it I have been out of country for 27 of those months.

I just think of an STi with that many miles as really high miles. You have to understand where I am coming from, mine has close to 11k on it. I know the second one had some stuff done to it as well. I am a firm believer in not buying someone elses project.

After reading both ads again I must have been looking at different STi's. 45k miles is not bad at all for that 06. I would try and get in on that one.
