STI brakes rotors

I was wondering are DBA rotors just as good as the stock rotors for an STI?? I'm trying to see if I can maybe save a few $$ by getting those vs brembos for an STI. Thoughts??

my 02 is not a prime example of reliability as its so very modded, on the other hand my old 03 had 198K on the clock completely stock and original when I sold it.

I've been debating between the 2.5 vs 2.0 engine and I guess you have answered my question in regard to the EJ20 longevity. Thanks.

brembo uses a higher grade medal than most cheaper rotors. Basically, you can turn them an extra time or two before they're shot. Also, they're not slotted/drilled so they'll last longer. Unfortunately, they have an exclusive contract through Subaru for that size.

04 STi brembo rotors (5x100) are particularly painful. They only ever made that size for one car in the US with that bolt pattern and they didn't make that many 04 STi's...

If you look around hard enough. You can find brembos not through the dealership. I could've last time I change my brakes, but my rotors weren't shot or really worn. Even though the dealership said the fronts were warped and the backs needed turned.

Napa had the front Brembo brand rotors and I think Advanced Auto Parts carried the rear rotors [non-brembo, which I don't think the rears are brembos anyway]. That was in my results at least.
