STi Availibilty?

Hey, I havnt posted in a really long time. I ended up getting a Land Rover Freelander, from those who remember my nagging noob questions about the Rex and Sti.

Well to make a long story short, somehow in a altered, yet sober and drug free, state of mind i bought a 2004 Land Rover Freelander HSE. I dunno why i dismissed the STi, but i did. Now im starting to hate that decision. ALOT! The rover is a nice ride, but i....... um..... dont like it. He he....I had somewhat sporty or modified cars all my life so far, and the Freelander was my first, SUV aka SLOW car. Its can handle off roading and all great, its AWD, locking diff's, VSC and all....but it aint no agile, and powerful REX.

So it looks like in going to sell my 4 months old freelander and get a STi this time, like i was supposed to in the first place. Question is are there any left? I stopped by my local Subie dealer, and they had none and didnt know when more were coming in. I went online and checked inventory of all the dealers in my state and NO STi's. Im sure that one can be located if need be, but did dealers stop getting them in wait for the 2005 year or something?

Thanks!

Yah, the 2004's have been out of production for a couple weeks. All the dealers I've talked to said they could bring in a 2004 from a different dealer, you could try that. Why don't you just wait for a 2005? They have some small but good upgrades. Thats what I'm doing at the moment.

The 2005's have arrived at Mastro Subaru in Florida, so I'm guessing that the rest of the country will have them shortly, if they don't already.

Cool. I figured as much with the end of the production run for this year.

What are the changes for 2005 that will be better? Like fog lights, standard radio....?

For me, waiting for an 05 STi, makes alot of sense. I still gotta get some money together yet and see what i can do to get rid of the Land Rover. So i guess i got some time yet before, i can get the STi. Which shoudl be perfectly the same time the 05's hit the dealers.

Wow...the new 05 looks really sweet. The interior looks top notch, like the new legacy's and Outbacks. Plus it has a radio STANDARD. The 04's lack of a radio didnt bother me, but it did make me consider having me dump another 700+ bucks in to listening to some tunes.

Performance looking like its gonne be that same. I heard that the front is lowered by a 1/2 inch on the 05's.

Looks like the first 05 WR Blue Pearl STi that comes in my local dealer is gonna be mine....im more sold on the STi this year than i was before. WHeni looked at the STi orignally i thought i wasnt going to be able to swing that price. Now that i bought a Rover that cost more than an 04 STi, i know i can swing it now.

$700? For a radio? That's cheap.

Oh yeah, not everyone has to have one like mine....
