stage 1 pulsing? possible cams?

im just curious..
my 2002 wrx is cobb tuned ots stage 1 and notice that going up hills or accelerating in 4th and 5th gear past 4k rpm my car pulses with power/accelerating.. i havent seen or read about anyone else with this..

the guy i bought the car from claimed to have had STi cams installed by a subie mechanic.. which i've always doubted. but times like this make me wonder.. also my car seemed to always have a more aggressive idle than other wrx's.. could the pulsing be cam work?

any ideas?

It should be rough at idle with cams not high in the powerband.

I didn't know STi cams fit in the WRX heads.

yeah thats what ive read.. it might not have been STi cams though he claimed it was. like i said before.. i've kinda doubted the claim..

also.. it could be that the ecu was tuned and when i Cobb tuned it.. it changed the top end..
i dunno.. oh well.. i guess i'll find out when i get protuned..
