I started to put my new Perrin exhaust in today. Old exhaust came out pretty easy and the hangers on the new exhaust went in nice to. As soon as i got to the spring bolts the install wasn't so nice anymore. I can get the passenger side one in no problem every time but the other side WILL NOT go in. I spent at least 3 hours wrestling it and nothing. Perrin provided me with regular bolts but they are too long for the stock DP and they don't even fit through the holes on the flange. If anyone has any advice on getting these bolts in i would love to know.
EDIT: Also my car is up on some Rhino ramps right now. Is it a bad idea to leave it up on the ramps overnight?
Either go out and buy some regular bolts that fit or cut the spring down.Also on the other side,did you just put the nut on enough to keep it down or did you tighten it up?

I didn't tighten the other side down all the way, i would try working back and forth on each bolt but no luck. I think the flange on the midpipe is just way too big. I think i'm going to try some new bolts. Does anyone know what size bolts to get?

I know it's not the best but is that probably why there is a leak? I used a flat 3" gasket because thats what Perrin said. Is there anything i can do to get rid of the leak, gasket sealer perhaps? I looked under the car and i saw water or something dripping out from where the 2 pipes meet. So basically i'm looking for some help on what i should do next, and is the leak bad for my car?

You could try some exhaust sealant or a thicker gasket like one from Remflex.The problem is the stock DP used a donut type gasket and now your trying to use a flat gasket.Not all catbacks are designed to fit the stock DP.

Still though, that's weird. I've cut my fair share of exhausts open, and i've never seen water in there... Maybe the condensation only stays closer to the engine? I've only really cut up the axle-back portions....
I know the pipes are different size, but i don't think there was anyway the donut gasket would have worked at all. The new mid pipe just slid right over it, besides Perrin says to use a flat gasket with the stock down pipe. What would probably be my best bet, taking it apart and sealing it or getting the remflex gasket? Also will my exhaust get louder with time? I've heard that it will and I've heard that it won't. Doesn't really matter but i was just curios.
