Small dilema, little help?

I just purchased an 04 WRX last week and want to get a few things. The first thing i'm getting are some STI splitters for the front bumper. The only problem is, is that the paint is all scratched on one side. I know the splitters will cover most of it but not all of it. So my question is, if i get the splitters should i have the paint fixed on the bumper first? Would i be able to have just that section of the bumper painted or would it look awkward. I'd rather not pay to have the whole thing painted. This is basically where the scratches are on my bumper (sorry for the MS paint job). Let me know what you think. Can i just get that section of the bumper repainted or am i going to have to do the whole thing?

i have a 03 and my front bumper was scratched, so i bought a whole new bumper cover from Subaru and it cost me 125 from the factory, and another 100 to get it painted so its cheap, i had to get a new bumper cover cause where the lady hit me it went a little deep

Here are the actual pictures of my bumper. I know the splitters will cover most of it. I mean i don't want to have the scratches showing that won't be covered but i don't know if i can justify having the whole bumper painted just for that. It gets kinda pricey. Is that my only option really. Would it look out of place if i had just that part painted?

I think that you would see a different rate of fading. I dont know of many body shops that would be willing to paint just a part of the bumper. You could try to paint it yourself, but this can go bad quickly.

just have them re-paint the bumper. The extra plastic bits are going to cost you money and they're going to be unpainted so they're going to have to pain them anyway. All of that is not worth it. The bumper looks in fine shape besides the paint. Have them rip the whole thing off and re-paint it. You're prob out $250 but I can't see doing anything else as any cheaper if you want something that looks decent.

Those STi corner thingys suck anyway, believe me. You don't want them.

Yeah i figured i'd have to get that painted. Which sort of sucks because the rear needs to be done too. So i'll be out about $800 and on top of that i wanted to have the ugly black side skirts painted too.

Mosc - just out of curiosity why don't you like the splitters? Just personal preference?

You could get it spotted and you would never know but after time the blend will show! I am a painter by the way! It would need to be repaired too, those spider marks have to be sanded all the way out and the deep scraps will have to be filled and then it would have to be primed and painted! Make sure you go to a good body shop and not some cheap one, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN THIS BUSINESS! Ask them what kind of paint they use and a price and reply back and I could give you a heads up on price and what not!

Alright cool thanks for the help. I'm going to try and head down and at least talk to the guys at shop and see what they say. I might end up shooting you a PM if you don't mind helping me out. Glad you chimed in here.
