Silverline Auto Finally On Nasioc. Check Out Our Deals On Sti Parts - NASIOC

These are the guys I would give a call to. They always are tearing apart Sti's and have parts all the time.

From the reading and researching I have done, isnt the 6sp swap more involved, usually more expensive and not as capable as PPGs (at an extreme)?

I believe that PPG's are cheaper in the end, and stronger than the STi 6spd.

this thing is going to be my daily driver, how good are PPGs for that?? the RAs are horrible on the highway. Terrible gas mileage, it would rock to drop it in another gear

From youtube and reading around they sound like you are always in reverse. But depenedin on exhaust and the level at which you listen to music that might not be a problem. I cant remember of the top of my head the ratio of the gears, but I do believe they are more similar to stock. I believe on their website they have (or at least they used to) the ratios for the gear set.
YouTube - WRX STI With PPG Gear box the best sound clip but it illustrates the sound that the straight cut make.
http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/files/pd...007.pdf...list of ratios, remars about fitment and what not. Hope this helps a little.

PPG's (to my knowledge) are very close to stock, i believe they do have a longer first gear and a slightly shorter second gear.

Straight cuts gears make the infamous whining sound. Helical cut gears are similar to stock with a very slight whine. I know this videos might get deleted or something but it is a good example of a 1st-2nd straight cut, 3rd-4th helical cut ppg gearbox. Notice how after he shifts out of 2nd gear, his exhaust pretty much covers any sound from the helical gears.

I looked at an 06 STI today with 18k miles. they wanted $28,000 for it. I told them it was too much and they would have to give me 13500 for my 02. They pretty much told me to leave!

13,500..? Wow, at least thats better than me. I went to go check out this modded 06 STi at the dealer the other day. They wanted 28,500, and only wanted to give me 11k for my car...and I still have under 40k miles on my scooby!

Used Car Values

That is best case scenario. I only have 45000 miles and car is perfect. Trade in is even worse. Your better off to sell it private then use money for down payment on STI. You might be able to get a better price on STI then. GOOD LUCK

allright, so im keeping the Bugeye. I want something that can be my daily driver but still move if it needs to. I want to spend about $8000-10000 on mods. Whats the best way and still be emissions legal? I have a CBE right now.
I was thinking about getting new
pistons/rods/cams/turbo/injectors/fuel pump/ intercooler. I would like to put about 300hp to the ground.

Sound possible?

You will also need a DP for anything. Its the biggest restriction in the exhaust track.

with $8000-$10000 to spend that's more than possible, u can probably get a stroker kit as well and some mad suspension parts, i think with that budget u can easily get 350whp
