STi FTW, plus if you ever wanted to make some rediculous power your have the right platform from the factory to do it. I've been considering this as well, I'm trying to get my car paid off now as fast as I can to look into an STi or Evo.

The only problem is your car is registered as an STi and your insurance will skyrocket, especially if you are a younger driver. ImNasti - build the bugeye. If you are in a state you can get away with a drive train swap legally...seems most cost effective. Then you have the best of both worlds, power of the STi, and the strikingly good looks of the bugeye.
Bugeye Mafia FTW!!

+1 to keeping your car, i am doing a STI short block swap right now, i got the shortblock brand new shipped to my house with a free engine gasket kit for $1799, and stage 2 cams from crower for 650 and springs for 250, and im just running a EVO3 16g, with 850cc injectors, and i still have less than 5 grand in it so you would have money left over as well to spend on something other things. like GAS lol

Yep I agree with that but the benefits of starting on an STi platform IMO outweighs the additional cost of insurance. It's only my opinion and if you have the money to do it that's the way I'd go. Then again I personally did not want to get into engine internals and tranny swaps, sticking to bolt ons.
Keep the bug eye and do a FMIC w/ RS hood swap and debadge, thats my plan to keep to sleeper.
That's actually what i though about doing a long time ago, except i was informed by mosc that the RS hood was not aluminum like the WRXs, it is steel and weighs a ton!
Anyways, if i were you i'd keep your bugeye and mod it. Upgraded turbo, injectors, I/C, and all that good stuff, and you will be well in range of STi power....
Or you could sell me your bugeye for $9k.... hahahahaahaha
I'm moving to Washington DC in the summer, anyone know what their emissions laws are?? I have a full catless TBE right now. .......legal in florida, ...probably not most other places.
You guys almost have me talked into keeping the bug eye.....almost

SO what about the hood you go and buy a carbon fiber rs hood and no one will know. Also you cant forget to spray your fmic flat black to hide it even better. I will have mine done soon and will have to post some pics. I am in the middle of redoing my car and goin back to stock look with all my mods. I love the element of surprise.
how many miles are on your 02? im still voting newer car 'sti' you would be happy. you put all this power to a older moter w/high miles ////boom///// $$$$$$$$$$$
