Should I buy?

I went to the local subaru dealer and im thinking about selling my 94 caprice to put a nice down payment on a 2008 wrx non sti. I just have a few questions before i make up my mind and i figure you guys would know the most.

How much of a performance difference is it from the 5 door to the 4 door? and how much money and what parts would it take to be able to run low 13's?

I dont know much about subaru's ive been brought up around small block chevy motors it would be great if you guys could help me out, thanks.

IMO and alot of the Subaru community hate the 08's. If your goin to go with the 08 body style go with the EVO way sicker looking car. Plus come on yaw control is sick

Yeah....unless you like the body style of the 8's then go with a used.

BUT if you want an 08' then go for the STi.

If you are going to go with the 08 Impreza, you have to go with the STi IMHO. I think that the accents of the WRX are a little too subdued, and it looks like a Civic Si. I saw an 08 STi tooling around Toronto the other day in black and I was honestly quite impressed. I dont know what it is, but it just looks... Better. It is your dime and who am I to tell you how to spend it. If you are not in love with the new body style, I say go with the used STi, or the new one. No 08 WRX for me.

THANK YOU!!!!! Finally! I like the STi look but i'm a wagon guy. EVO's are ok but i like the STi and the reason they went with the look they did.

Well I want a turbo all wheel drive car brand new off the showroom, dont wanna spend more than 25k on one(before mods), and i dont like the evo, the interior is real cheap and the paint is super thin and weak. I detail cars so im super anal on paint and i love the blue that subaru has.

should be low 13's easily, i squeezed a 13.3 out of my 06' and it's stock.

of course i had ice in my intercooler reservoir.

Well Im going to go ahead and stick myself out there with suddenthomas.I abosolutely loathe the 08 WRX and STI. I would go with the EVO X, but like was also stated its your money. If you want to run in the 13's I would look for a nice low mileage 06-07 and go from there, if not a used STI. Plus there is already ALOT of after market support for them already, still dont know how much is out for the 08 and all.
