Well I just posted this link in another thread but I thought I would make a new one so that more people would see it and take advantage of the useful info...enjoy!
I was looking at the DOHC manual and wondering. Look at the throttle body. Why do they put coolant thru the damn throttle body? The only thing I can see this doing is heating up the air that goes thru it.
We used to mod our Nissan VG30E to bypass the coolant from the TB. It was measurably lowering the intake temps for guys with a CAI.
Any thoughts on this guys? Any of you mechanics have input as to why they route hot coolant thru the TB?

It's been done already. Check out www.scoobymods.com for the way to do it. Fairly simple actually. The reason it's there is so the Throttle body doesn't freeze up in winter. But if you're in an area with no winter to speak of, then reroute them.
