Question safe psi

Hi everyone, i'm new with my 2002 wrx and still not a great mechanic. I just ordered an Apexi Gt cat back exhaust, and a Aem shortram intake. The next thing I plan on doing is getting is a manual boost controller/guage. I was wondering whats a safe yet effective psi i should raise the turbo to? Thanks for your help and comments.

well to really turn up the boost you need a catless up pipe... with out a catless up pipe you could maby turn it up 1psi or a little bit lower.. it is really up to you.. anytime you raise boost with a catless up pipe there is a chance of a pice of the cat breaking off and damageing your turbo..

My advice is this- keep the boost at the same peak level. With a MBC, you will have more low end power since the ECU limits your boost at lower rpms. But, just make sure the peak stays at the same spot. Doing this, I went from running 9.3 at the track (1/8 mile) to running a 9.0.

Uhhh.... no. The JDM car uses a different turbo, and is tuned to run on the 100 octane pump gas they use.

I also heard if you get some new injectors and a new fuel pump you can safely raise your boost even more. If this is true....how much would be good? thanks again

Yes you can raise your boost more if you got a new fuel pump and injectors, however you MUST have engine management to run the new injectors or else you won't be going anywhere.
