Hi Guys, I just wanted to say think you a wealth of info on this site. I inherited (almost free from my brother) a 2005 Saabaru (with 31k) about two months ago and have been scouring Nasioc and this site since to get some ideas about upgrades and general info about the car. It's my first foray in into Subaru ownership having come from the past two generations of M3s. I've still got an 05 M3 that I love but keeping it primarily for track days. Anyway, so far I've got a Cobb AP and have flashed to stage 1. My next step will be to add the 17inch wheels, add an FHI 20mm rear sway bar, and either a set of Eibach Pro Kit or Tein H Techs (those are what I've narrowed it down to so far.) After that I plan on going stage 2 but the only exhaust I've heard so far that I really enjoy is one I am having a hard time sourcing, a Prodrive Axle Back. Anyway, that's where I stand at the moment. I hope to pick the brains of some of the experts on here in the future. Thanks.
Welcome to the forums, Saabaru's rock ! Sorry to hear about your previous and current ownership of a Big Money Waster, but I guess we all have our demons to exorcise Once you upgrade your suspension and turn faster laps in the grocery getter, you'll be over it.
I'm not sure those would be my first choices on springs. Lots of good choices out there, it all kind of depends on what you want to do with the car, and if you're planning on upgrading the dampers. Best money spent is by far the swaybar(s) and good rubber.
Have fun, and ask away (that is after you've searched first) !Thumbs Up
Hey, hey, hey now my wife owns one of those...and yes it is money well spend...:notgood:
Prodrive is big money and since they are a UK endeavor it might be hard to get anything from them here in the states.
You sound like a road course guy and that in itself is awesome in my book. Well once you decided on what you want we are here to help. If you have a question, no matter how mundane it may seem we will try and answer them or at least post a link to follow.
I would suggest looking in NASIOC classifieds for a Prodrive axle back. I had that exhaust on my 06 wrx. Absolutely loved it! I see them for sale every now and again.
It seems like almost everyday I am posting a WTB on that site, but nothing so far. I wrote Prodrive in England but they want close to $2200 (with exchange rates/shipping) for the catback system and though I love the exhaust, it doesn't run that deep I've heard the Borla Hush and it's not too bad but I love those Prodrives.
I think he might be running a similar style, if not the same wheels. He's a member on NASIOC I believe and he's got the Eibach Pro Kit on with 3/8in spacers and I love the way the car looks. I've also heard from quite a few people running the Eibachs that they may be the best choice for NYC roads.
Those look like the PF01s. One of the newer wheels they make. I believe they are even lighter than the RPFs. Still a nice looking rim, and nice looking ride there.
