NooB here

Hey Newbie here,
I purchased an 06 WRX today and traded in a 05 GTO. Shockingly im very happy with my choice. I thought Id miss the GTO but the WRX is a blast to drive. Unfortuneitly I cant leave any car i have stock lol. So looking for thoughts and suggestions from everyone. Once of the very first things i gotta do is change the shifter. What the best out there?

welcome to the family, good to see another muscle car guy crossing over to the darkside, everyone on this site is pretty cool as long as you do a little research before u ask.

i would go with a kartboy shifter, they make the best ones for our cars from what i hear. cobb is not bad either.

Dont forget to get the bushings also when you buy a shifter. If you have stock tires, might want to get a better set also. Search around and familarize yourself with what is and isnt good for the car before you go off and just buying crazy parts that dont do much or hurt the car.

Nice trade from the GTO to a wrx, might not have as much punch, but the wrx is still a ridiculous vehicle...

+1 to Kartboy Short Shifter... idk about the KB, but the COBB short shifter is height adjustable...

The two most popular short throw shift levers are made by Cobb and Kartboy. Cobb's short throw shift lever is actually adjustable both in height and throw. Kartboy's short throw shift lever is a solid one-piece lever that's slightly less expensive. Personally, I went with Kartboy's lever because I didn't feel the need to ever adjust it. Either one would be a great first mod. Be sure to upgrade to Kartboy's polyurethane shifter bushings (front and rear) too when you upgrade your shifter. Good luck and happy modding!
