So if you've seen my other posts, I just got my 2011 sti sedan about 2/3 weeks ago. Well I finally got to play in the snow with it last night. Was having fun in a parking lot by my house, and noticed when I was drifting and doing donuts that it wasn't bouncing off the Rev limiter. It would just kind of cut out at the red line point. I've seen videos of other Sti's having that beautiful Rev limiter sound the subies make. I know it's not good for the car but I was just wondering why mine wasn't. Any mods involved in that? Just wondering
Safety feature because Subaru knows people like us are gonna go out and do stuff like that. Basically you are hitting fuel cut or oil level cut which keeps the motor from nuking itself. I'm gonna go with the later of those choices.
