New wrx owner and new to forum

Just wanted to say hello, I just bought an 08 wrx that is all stock. I see there is a ton of useful information on these forums so I figured it is a good place to hang out. I don't really plan on changing a lot on my car for some time but when I do I plan to start with suspension and brakes. Is is possible to add ground clearance so I can have some fun back in the old mountain logging roads here in Montana but still maintain decent street handling?

Welcome....

It's one or the other. Forester suspension will help a bit at the sacrifice of road handling.

Thanks that was about what I thought. Would an aftermarket suspension with the same ride height and some aluminum under body armor allow me to be safe ripping up the back roads? there is a chance of bottoming out in some sections around were I live.

That sounds like a decent plan for some fun.
The forester swap is pretty common tho, ya might wanna look into that a tad more as long as you don't wanna hit the paved turns too hard
Welcome to the site! Post some pics of the new ride too!!!
..............CHEERS!!!

Building it more towards off road seems like the right thing to do but it is my daily driver so I am still undecided on what to do. Either way it is going to be a slow process. just a pic from the dealership i only have a side and front pic and this one looks better.

Look here for parts:

Parts For Sale - Subaru Forester Owners Forum

It's set up the same as here.... easy peezy to navigate. You can find your parts there.

It will raise it a bit (not sure on the dpecs though).
