New to the Subie world

Hello everyone,

Im Jonny and I just recently bought a 2005 WRX. Its completely stock with a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Im not very tech smart when it comes to automechanics and I am always open for any advice. I know only a little about modding cars but I would love to hear what people have done to theirs. If I could I would like some suggestions on what I should do to it. Thanks everyone!

Welcome to one of the friendliest car communities in the world! Be sure to wave to fellow WRXs and STis when you pass them on the road. Chances are they'll wave back just like motorcycle or Jeep drivers do with each other.

The stock downpipe is arguably the most restrictive part on your car when it comes to power. It is very common to upgrade that part along with the cat back of your choice and a "Stage 2" ecu reflash of some sort. You'll also want to upgrade your up pipe to a catless version since WRXs came with a catalytic converter in their up pipes prior to 2006. Just be sure to do plenty of research before you buy. This is a great place to gather some background info: Unabomber's Manifesto - NASIOC

Welcome!!!

One way to "check out" what others have done is to click on their user name to see their profile, and then click on the "about me" tab to see their modifications. I would suggest checking out those who post regularly to various forum threads.

Enjoy your new purchase!
