new STi color

ok so everybody knows the STi comes in only a handful of colors...blue, black, white, dark grey adn silver...well today i was walking out to get a used car for inspection when i noticed an sti. of course i was drawn to it and it looked silver but as i got clsoer i notcied it was more of a tan color, a very light brown. i think it may be my new favorite color for these cars.

I really really like that color too, sort of light bronzish. Crystal grey Mettalic I think they call it.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if CGM is the color you're describing there. CGM is more of a dark grey-ish color.

That color was a Crystal Grey Metallic. Confused me too, I test drove a CGM color STi and I argued up and down with the sales guy that it was a Silver, despite what the sticker said. I then test drove a CGM colored STi at a different dealer because this one looked like a Champaign color, looked almost light tanish, which I liked alot.

I go back to buy it, and the same car same VIN number looked "silver" this time, even though the sticker said CGM. The problem, the CGM color is a pearl paint job, and these things look completely different in different lighting. Strong daylight makes them look bronze or champaign. By far the best looking color for the STi, matches the wheels nicely.

I like the CGM, not as shiny as the PSM. I thinj 05 was the first year for it on the WRX. Most people will argue that it is PSM until they see a PSM next to it.

i have a wrx in crystal gray metallic. when i was first looking for a car i had never seen a wrx in that color before, and i was shopping around a bunch of dealers, and went to a dealer expecting to look around and i saw it and liked it so much that i ended up going home with a new car.

in bright sunlight it looks very silver, close to the platinum silver metallic. but as the sun goes down you can really see the champaign color in it, and it has that tannish tint that you guys are talking about, and at night you can definately tell its darker that the platinum silver metallic. its a really cool color, i love it.

Crystal Grey Metallic was one of my top choices before getting my wrx. You don't see too much of them but I ended up getting the WRBlue because the guy had two in stock and was willing to give me a good deal, where as the CGM had to be ordered and it would have taken a week before I got it.

they announced CGM right after I bought my PSM Wagon :-(

My wife says "If they release a CGM STi Wagon, you are going to pre-order it." I prefer more of a pepper gray, but CGM is definatly a sweet color.
