New to the site and Subaru!

Hey everybody what's going on? I decided to join this WRX site rather than the others because so far I have found more useful info on this one. I just purchased a 2013 WRX about two weeks ago after trading in my modded 1.8T jetta. I must say I am super impressed. Being from Colorado, I always wanted a WRX to help get me up to the slopes to shred. I am now enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 2 years now as a helicopter mechanic, stationed on Coronado Island in San Diego, CA. As all of the other cars I have had, I do plan on tuning this beast to see what kind of power I can gain from it, but with only 400 miles on her, I plan on waiting to make sure everythings in good working order under warranty before I tap into it. Look forward to chatting with you guys and learning the ins and outs of these cars now!

So far all I have done is tinted the windows and installed my subs (Yes, I bump )

I had 2 alpine type x 12's in my 06 with a hifonics Brutus 2000rms amp wired to 1 ohm. It was way too much for the car but I loved every minute of it

Haha yea im just pushing 2 12" kicker compvr's enclosed with a 1000w kicker amp. It is more than enough for me. The audio quality in this car is horrific compared to my stock audio system in my 2004 jetta though. Is it the head unit or the speakers? or both??

It's def the worst thing I've ever heard in a new car! But I've heard/read on the forums that just doing the HU is enough to bring it to life. I have a monster cable for my iPhone (pandora junkie) and it sounds MUCH better than the FM radio just fyi.

Re: New to the site and Subaru!

The stock HU is horrible, it's a bottom of the barrel clarion. I put a Kenwood double din touch screen in and it made a huge difference. Just about any name brand aftermarket HU is an improvement.
