New to Forum & Subaru community

How's it going everyone, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My names JR, Im 23 and honestly have never been into cars until recently, I'm more of a motorcycle guy. But about a month back my car took a dive and I decided I was finally going to buy myself a nice car. At first I saw the brz and thought it was sleek and nice looking but realistically found it just wasn't enough for me. Then I started looking into the wrx and slowly began to like it more and more. Now I research it daily, now I have not purchased it yet (have 5k saved need 8 -_-) but I just wanted to get everyone opinions and likes/dislikes about the car. I'm either going to get a brand new 2013 wrx or maybe a used sti depending (finally down to 5pts on my love aw from 8) so as you could imagine insurance costs are important to me. Well, thanks for reading I look forward to meeting new people in the area and hopefully get my wrx soon!

Welcome JR,

This has been beaten to death... but my one question to you is this:

What are your goals for the car? Leaving it stock, adding more power, auto-x... , etc...

Insurance on the STi will eat you alive if you have point and/or accidents, ask me how I know.

Mainly aesthetics as far as my goals, I don't see myself doing any real engine work since I commute to college and I'd like to get somewhat decent gas mileage & I don't really see the need honestly. Don't get me wrong I like to go fast but for that I'll just buy another motorcycle next summer.

Then the WRX is probably your best bet.

MPG's and insurance reasons alone will save you $ on top of the cost off the bat. Add in being a new car with warranty.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the wrx too, I'm not trying to have my insurance cost more than my car payment lol

My insurance for my 2013 STI limited is $95 a month for full coverage. 100/300/100
