I would do this as well! I loved how my bay on the Z was well painted and nearly perfect to the outside.

A few mils doesn't do shit but look ugly. Hardly any weight at all

I would have rather had that 6oz of spray and look good rather than the poo we got now

Exactly Randy, but why black? What is the idea with that, just hide the engine more in my opinion instead of making that sexy boxer stick out more!!

Any other color is just high maintenance. Its an engine bay. I'd rather have to reach my arm in tight spaces as few times as possible lol! I'd def do mine matte black if I were to do it too.

Every company except a Rolls Royce are going cheap as shit on paint. The machines can lay it on so thin to save money vs a actual person putting it on thicker.

I just like how an engine looks on black, plus hoses and wires are better hidden.
When I finally do this, it will be after I tuck and shave.
I'm not going all out, but am just going for a more clean look. Also it will give me more workspace

Yeah if I were smart I would've saved my setup out of the Z. Even though I didn't have the OE head unit I should've just went and bought one!

X2 12" under seat subs will prob be my route with the WRX.
