V8 EJ207 is generally regarded as almost as durable as EJ257s. It seems like people have pushed the USDM 2.5L further on a regular basis, though I don't doubt that it's simply because there are more of those here than the 2.0L V8-9s. IA Performance is a good place to go for JDM AVCS parts and information.
For exhaust, anything that's name brand and not a canister (fart can) exhaust should work for you. For headers, the only real options are Killer B (costs an arm and a leg) or Full Race (costs both arms and both legs). Anything else will eventually break.
