maintance of my 02 wrx

Hello every one, I just put a down payment on an 02 WRX wagon and will be picking it up later this week. I did own a miata but my father got into a wreck last weekend and its totaled. Ive always liked wrx's and am delighted that i can afford one and have a reason to get a new car. I just had some questions about the car i'm about to get. Ive heard that on awd cars its important to have tread wear equal on the front and back, so how often should i rotate the tires? What kind of mpg can i expect by driving sensibly and just occasionally faffing about with the gas pedal in the floor? Are there any known mechanical issues that come up often in the 02 model? Ive read a few reviews and they were all good but i would like to hear the opinion of people that have lived with these cars for awhile. thanks for any help.

i have an 02 sedan, with a bout 140k miles. still runs super strong, strong than some new cars would be after 4 months of purchase. i do recomend keeping up on the recomended maintenace form the dealer tohugh, thattl definetly keep it alive for a long time. and if youre getting a manual, dont be dropping the clutch at 6k, the tranny is known to be practicaly made of glass. hope everything works out for you!

great cars, But dont buy one with mods, i made that mistake and its already cost me about 4400 bucks. No question the best car ive ever owned/driven. And I've worked at multiple car dealerships. Other then the trannys, the car is great. but man of honor is right, if you beat the tranny, it will tap out. Welcome to the subbie family!
