Looking for Wheels. -Questions

Hi guys, looking for a new set of shoes for my 08 WRX sedan.

I know the bolt pattern is 5x100 but I'm unsure what the offset is I heard it was something like 55?

Basically I found wheels I like, they are 18x8 with a +35 offset. So would they fit? If not what kind of spacing would I need?

Thanks.

Oh, and if anyone knows of any wheels like the Rota grids, D2, P45-r3, or the MXR's. That arn't thousands of dollars let me know!

These are the ones I'm interested in (will be changing the center cap). 18x8 5x100 Fast Strecken LMR Type Wheel SET OF 4 Wheels | eBay

Your correct about the oem offset. It is +55. +35 probably wont work too well. What tire size are you planning on running? With a 18x8 a +48 will probably work much better than a +35 but, Im no wheel expert. Someone with more experience can either confirm or deny this.

Nothing too aggressive for tire fitment, the standard 225/45/r18

I'm not sure either, I'm finding it rather difficult to find wheels for our cars.

Those look pretty heavy... I wonder what the weight is per wheel.

Since you're looking for a reasonably priced set of wheels, you might want to check out WHEELDUDE.COM and see what kind of Rotas you like. Many of the wheels have pictures of them mounted on customer cars, so you can get an idea of what they might look like on yours. You could also do a Google image search since they're fairly popular wheels.

I've had nothing but awful experience with wheel dude it took them over a month to ship center caps. They never emailed me back or returned my call. Try ts autosport there prices are good they quoted me 699 for 17x9 rota g forces.

Weight isn't a big deal to me, looked it up they were 25 lbs a piece.

I mean trying to find wheels for our cars in general, that fit our offset.

It's extremely hard to find wheels of my liking as well OP, so I feel your pain. I see you like gray/black w/polished lip...same here lol!

But with offset its all about what style you're going for honestly. Just know that the lower you go from 55 the more wear n tear you're causing. A 35 is WAY to aggressive IMO although 90% of WRX's you see are running an offset between 35-40, which is gonna give you that very stanced out appearance. Stay above a 40 for heavens sake lol!

And if you're gonna spend the money on wheels, go with a wider width...just my opinion. My most likely purchase will be....

If you're gonna slam your car on some ridiculous suspension setup, stay away from these. If dropped more than .3" stay with a 17" wheel with a width no more than 8" IMO...unless you wanna start rolling fenders...DON'T DO IT lol!

Both of these wheels are offered gray/black in 17x8", 18x8", and 18x9.5" so whatever you wanna go with its prob made by them. Recommended tire size will vary with wheel so when you decide on something you like let me know and I can get you setup right.

Those are nice wheels.

But I don't want a wide stance, but I am lowering the car 2 inches.

So i was thinking 18 x 8.

08 fenders are not as wide as the 09-13. Be careful. 18x9.5" is not a good idea for 02-07 and the 08 WRX.

Not that 18" in general is a good idea to begin with. They ride harsher, cost more, you have to worry about potholes, and you spend a hell of a lot more on tires. 17x8" +48 is easy to find and it also lets you go with something wider and shorter like 235/40R17 which is just about perfect for the WRX and it's 5-speed.

Holy smokes Batman! Lol...but I respect everyone's taste is different so no bashing here.

Def no wider than an 8" wheel! Find something you like and PM me wheel stats. I'll help set you up with sneakers.

Def never heard of the difference, but MOSC knows his stats OP. looks like you're looking at an 8" anyways.

I do have a friend with a Hawk that's running 18x9.5" wheels though and he's def not rolled :/

Running 17's right now... They just seem REALLY small on our cars. I figured 18's might cure that.

I couldn't agree more! 08+ needs an 18" wheel. Prior years like fine with 17's. you'll be good with an 18x8" though which at least offers the most wheel options. Good luck OP
