Is there such a thing of modding and NOT costing an arm and a leg ? Is it tuned as of yet ? I hope it is w/a SRI. Turbo back and up-pipe and Engine Management/pro-tune. Have heard many on here that shriek at MBC's.... It's like the Anti-Christ around here. I have no experience w/them myself. You won't get the FULL potential w/out engine mgmt/protune. Everyone on here is extremely helpful.... Even MOSC..... When he has a beer next to him. ;o)

Things that will improve the performance of your car cheaply and drastically:
-Tuning the ECU
-A Downpipe
-wider or more aggressive tread/compound Tires
-rear swaybar

Common modifications that will NOT improve the performance of your car:
-Drop in air filters
-carbon fiber hoods (many are actually heavier than the stock aluminum hood)
-cat back exhausts (exhaust piping from the catalytic converter to the tip)
-lowering springs
-break pads/lines/rotors
-bracing pieces like strut tower bars and h-braces

Common modifications that can damage your car or often reduce performance:
-Blow Off Valves (BOVs)
-Manual or "Electronic" boost controllers.
-Air intakes
-headers

PS: I like beer. Particularly Belgian.

that should be under "Common modifications that will NOT improve the performance of your car"

It's a safety mod, not a power mod.
