just bought 04 sti, new to site
maybe i registered on the wrong site but i cant find any detailed information on the sti. the info im finding is more related to modifying the wrx. i see lots of problems with broken trany's and other problems, this isnt a problem with the sti is it?
anyway, i just drove the car home yesterday and love it but have lots of questions. whats the difference in the wrx vs. sti as far as non hp/torque specs. i would like to know the "other" better improovements made to the car.
since my car did not come with a manual or else i would read it, i have some dumb questions to ask. what is the water spray switch do? im guessing it injects water over the intercooler???? how dos the traction diff switch work and what does it do? if i leave the car completely stock like it is, what the longivity of the car? i dont take it to the track or anything but like to get on it every now and then.
what kind of oil to use like full synthetic or weight, fuel to use, which i did'nt know and put 87 in it last night. i would like to know if i can download a service manual to do the maintenance. also, does it have the rubber timing belt that needs replacing like my mitsubishi outlander and like most imports? the car has 60K and i dont wanna let some needed maintenace go by that im not aware of. i do all my own mechanic work on my other vehicles and jet skis and such so doing the stuff wont be too hard, thanks. i used the search but could'nt find basic information, just major modification information which i dont plan on doing.
