Did you try to trouble shoot the high idle at all.

Welllllll Everything went good this weekend! got my car idling right were it needs and she is puring like a angry kitten, My new light flywheel and exedy clutch is real nice. I took it for a drive around my dads old driveway anddddd I didn't notice the other half of the driveway had a shitload of snow I hit that mother and it was like suuuurrrphhhhh stuck. hahaha. Now all I need to do is get my new tires on!! I have some videos on you tube of her running.

Yeahh it was bad vacuum hose. I have the idle right were it needs to be now. I had a exhaust leak to. I almost have my clutch fully broke in now!!!! I'll Post a new video. But first i have to find my camera.hahahaha

Okay so I finally got my jdm ej205 delivered today and got a quick question.
Since I need to swap the exhaust manifold for the purpose of the 02 sensor in the up pipe, is it possible to just swap the up pipe instead of swapping the whole manifold?

The engine only has 36k miles on it and the exhaust manifold/heat shields are in great condition compaired to my 160k mile manifold off my usdm.

Also was thinking about using the jdm injectors but not sure if they are different than the usdm injectors, didnt look into it yet to know for sure.

Well to answer my own question Jdm injectors are side feed while USDM injectors are top feed.

Well here's another JDM swap for the books.
Things I swapped/replaced all together.
Reused Intake Cam Gear. (sensor)
Reused Crank Gear. (sensor)
Reused Intake Manifold/TGV valves. (emissions)
Reused crank belt guide.
Replaced timing belt and pulleys.
Removed Up pipe and exhaust manifold. (EGT Sensor, lower 02 Sensor)
Timing belt covers. (Needed the belt guides being it was a engine that came from a automatic)
Removed the automatic trans plate and replaced with my flywheel.
Replaced a coolant line under intake manifold. (intake manifold was'nt sitting correctly to block)
Removed the AC compressor bracket and used the USDM bracket. (JDM coompressor bracket did'nt mount up to USDM Compressor.)
Reused Power steering pump. (JDM had resvouir on top of pump)


After letting her idle for 15 minutes I took a short drive down the end of the street and back and it was flawless!

Only issue I have seen is I have a CEL with no code?
I cleared it with AP and restarted and code didnt dissapear.
Was thinking maybe reflash?
Gonna look it up and see what I can dig up about this, so with all this said here's the very first startup.

I'm not sure who was more excited,my kids or myself.

Can't wait to get it out on the open road once it's llegal.
Need to put insurance back on it and get inspection done.
I felt bad telling them I couldn't take them for a ride in it ,but it will be worth the wait for them.
I think they love boost as much as I do. :-D

Did you have to get it tuned?

I'm ordering my engine today. I was told by our local tuner they DO in fact have higher compression and require tuning.

I've seen alot of people say the compression 9.0 on the jdms.
Maybe I heard wrong then.
I flashed mine with AP stage 2 93Oct map and it started fine
Still waiting getting extra cash to get it road legal so I have yet to test her out. :-(

I wish I could but one thing I can't afford right now is paying a stack of tickets that I would get if I got caught let alone having my car impounded, however the thought has crossed my mind a few times.

Well..

My JDM engine even though it was the "Cleanest one" had an oil problem in cyl 4 so I'm sending it back and buying a new short block.

Also the compression is higher by 30lbs so on that model non variable cam coil mount on intake it was higher..
