i smoke and drive a 6 speed jeep lifted with no sway bars, and no power windows, just wait for stop light to fire up, hold in mouth, and wait till 5th or 6th gear before putting it in hand. i know a jeeps different, not as much power, but im sure its not that hard to get used to.
my biggest worry would be burning the seats....

Thats silly. Cars slide in ice, rain, and snow; sometimes people die. Does that mean we should outlaw driving unless its sunny outside.

i can understand where you're coming from, however, im still going to smokew. Dont take that the wrong way. But you can't tell me their arent alot of other distractions out there, many otheres have been the cause of accidents.

i hate people that think like this. one dumb ass screws up and so you feel that banning smoking in a car is a legitimate answer to an extremely rare problem.

welcome to the nanny state.

The measure goes into effect in July 2008, imposing a minimum $20 fine for anyone caught driving and using a cell phone unless the driver uses a headset, ear bud or other technology that frees both hands.

Yeah in new york to. But what i meant was banning cell phones in general. Since smoking killed a few drivers, it should definetly be banned right?
