The reason i ask if that whatever subie i do buy, will be a 5 (maybe a 6 speed ) and i was wondering how hard it is to drive these cars while holding a cig in the other hand haha.

thats actually the dumbest question i have ever come across....

Listen pall, I've known people to smoke and drive, i just asked if its hard or not seeing as how wrx/stis are a little faster than the S10s and civics im used to riding in. Don't be a dick, answer the question.
These cars are performance cars and the clutch/tranny arent exactly the easiest on the market. I drove a buddy's Honda Element, and that is the first time in several years that I drove a non-performance oriented car, and the gearbox/clutch were a breeze! I will tell you that it isnt hard, but it will probably result in ash all over your center console. I dont smoke, but... Yeah, that is my two cents.

Thanks, thats the answer i was looking for. I suppose I could quit and use the extra cash for whatever i end up with. I'm pretty set on a wrx/sti though.
HAHA, I was just talking about wishing I had a vise that took up a lot of $$$ that I could give up to help fund my wants and desires, but unfortunately I dont smoke, chew, or drink(well, that much).
I've had one cig in my subie and it was a pain. It was in my mouth most of the time. Even if I went back to consistently smoking I would not smoke in the rex.
+1 to that. I wouldnt want to smoke in to either, well, if I did smoke. I told a guy he could smoke in my new car one time, and the smell didnt come out for like a week or so. Window cracked any everything, and I drove with the windows down for the next week. No offense to smokers, I got no beef with your habit, but I dislike the smell.
I will play the devils advocate. I smoke a little and if I am just cruising around town it isn't too bad. I fust hold the cig in between my fingers on my left hand and drive with the heel of my hand when I'm shifting otherwise i just drive with my right.

this thread is a waste of life.....this question is answeralbe. wlthough no one actaully cares enough to do so thats like me asking how many of you guys drink..? you know how do you thin k driving a 5 speed or 6 speed would be holding like a 40 or maybe a whole bottle of vodka or do you think a 12oz can would be more sutieable.... have any of you guys ever pulled this off in a subie wwhat do you think....thats real smart right ?! this i a site in which we gather information from eachother or put our heads to gether and dispute a topis "USEFULL" information from eachother no matter what the problem or casue might be on our cars... were not talking about smoking and drinking..... your wasting time space of a thread, and my brain cells.. !
when i did smoke cigarettes i always held with my right hand. its a sinch to hold a cig and shift gears with the same hand. if you hold with your left, i couldn't comment. but dont let this guys lead you to believe this car is any harder to drive then any other stick. i have hit the bong while driving all my cars, this one is no different. cigarettes, j's, blunts, and what have you are all fairly easy to handle. especially with the ash tray right there in front of the shifter.
